SCDCC launches RuPay Kisan Card and RuPay Debit Card

Mangalore, Feb 26: For the first time in the history of cooperative sector in the nation,  South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank (SCDCC) in association with Nabard has introduced RuPay Kisan Card and RuPay Debit Card.

G R Chintala, Chief General Manager of Karnataka Regional Office launched the Kisan card at a function held at the SCDCC Bank premises at Kodialbail on February 25, Tuesday. While Rajendra Poojary ,Deputy General Manager , IDBI launched the RuPay debit card.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinthala said that farmers of the district are blessed to get such modern banking facilities. The farmers need not visit banks every time for cash withdrawals and can avail amount from any ATM’s.

Presiding over the event, SCDCC Bank Chairman M.N. Rajendra Kumar said that SCDCC is the first DCC in the nation to implement RuPay, which is an ambitious scheme of Nabard.

He also said that RuPay card holders  can use the card in more than one lakh ATMs across the country. The farmers can withdraw the maximum amount of Rs Rs 25000 per day with the help of RuPay Card facility.

NABARD has sanctioned the amount of Rs 1.46 crore for the project and bank will not charge anything for five transactions in a month, whereas the amount of Rs 20 will be charged for more than 5 transactions, he added.
