Mangalore, Jan 23: An HPCL gas tanker rammed into a sand-laden lorry on the highway near Farangipet on January 23, Thursday.
Reportedly, the gas tanker moving from Mangalore-Bangalore national highway rams into a sand-laden lorry at the rear end moving in same direction.
According to the sources, the incident occurred, when suddenly the lorry driver applied brakes in the middle of the road.
Gas tanker driver Mariyappan (53) who was injured during the accident was rushed to a private hospital for the treatment.
The traffic was halted for sometime due to the incident.
Fire service along with Mangalore rural police reached the spot and also managed to return to normal flow.
