Karkala: Inauguration of thatched roof bus shelter for passengers by Ajekar Yuva friends

Karkala; Jan 03: On behalf of Ajekar Kemmanja Yuva friends, a newly constructed passenger’s bus shelter in front of Ajekar Church was inaugurated by native Ramanatha Shenoy.

During the occasion higher primary school headmaster Vishwanatha, native Manohar Soans, school children and friends groups were present.

After studying the hapless condition of the hundreds of students and general public, who were standing under scorching sun and rains in the midst of the road without proper bus shelter, local youths after discussing with local panchayat, came forward to build one temporary thatched roof bus shelter.

Along with this youth, a native entrepreneur Ramanatha Shenoy, for the construction of bus shelter has supplied required bricks and other equipments at free of cost. With the co-operation of likeminded Shenoy, native youths built a bus Shelter. Besides this will give an idea that how our ancestors were used to live in that thatched houses. Also, the idea to create an awareness among today’s children about the benefit of thatched houses.
