Even servants of god served Krishna through dance and art of music

Udupi; Sept 15: Addressing the art lovers gathered in the auditorium after inaugurating the district level “Bharata Naatya Competition Programme”at Raghavendra math’s Mantralaya Sabha Bhavan, held on Sept 15, Sunday organized by Srishti Kala Kuteera for students of high schools,Shirur Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji said in his address that Nrityakale (art of dance)which has been inheritated from ‘Bharata Muni’(an ascetic or rishi) has been continued as the ritualistic art (Shastriya art) since thousands of years. Even ‘Dasas’ (servants of God) have been serving lord Shree Krishna by employing dance and art of music (sangeetha).Hence all the competitors of this contest programme,should exhibit their performance as a service(Seve) towards Lord Shree Krishna, not as a competition, he said.

Continuing his speech, he said that udupi is a land of Lord Shree Krishna-an art lover.Raghavendra Swamiji also learnt the art of music (Sangeetha).Kanaka Dasa, Purandara Dasa and Vadiraja to served Lord Shree Krishna. They have glorified India’s talents, culture not only in India but also in abroad through dance and art of music.

Samaga, a well established, famous dance teacher and an expert in dance said in his speech that competition should be a reason for healthy growth and development. Only those who are confident and courageous will take part in the competition. Therefore there is no need of disappointment in failures. These type of competitions only become staircase to reach the talents of India worldwide, he said
