Udupi, September 11: A youth was arrested by Kaup police on Thursday, September 10th for sending indecent messages via mobile phone to a teacher from Udyavar and tormenting her.
The arrested youth is identifies as Akshay Kundar (20) resident of Bolve, Udyavar.
It is gathered that, after Akshay managed to collect the teacher’s mobile number, he began sending obscene messages from his mobile phone. When the teacher phoned Akshay and questioned him about this, he reportedly threatened her. Disturbed by this, the teacher filed a complaint with Kaup police.
Kaup police after registering the complaint immediately swung into action and arrested the accused at Malpe port.
The accused has been presented to before court and sent to one day judicial custody.
Led by Kaup police sub-inspector Jagadish Reddy, ASI Shridhar Nambiar, ASI Jayasheela, and policemen Mahabala Shettigar, Krishna poojary and Anand participated in the operation.
