Auto-rickshaw driver attacked using weapons in the city.

Mangaluru, August 27: An Auto rickshaw driver has been reportedly attacked by three unknown men on the night of Wednesday, August 26th while he was sitting inside his auto which was parked near KMC Hospital at Attavar here.

The victim is identified as Gurudath (35).

It is gathered that, Gurudath had visited his relative KMC Hospital, who delivered a kid on Sunday and is being treated at the maternity ward hospital. Later, Gurudath went to the auto stand where he had parked his auto, and was conversing with someone on his cell phone, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, three men who arrived on a bike attacked him with a sickle and machette. Gurudath sustained deep injury on his left arm, back and shoulder. The trio fled from the spot soon after Gurudath jumped out of the auto, shouting for help, it is gathered.

Gurudath, rushed to KMC Hospital where he got admitted and is taking treatment.

Pandeshwar police and other senior police officers visited the spot and investigated.

The auto driver in his police statement said, the attackers were unknown to him.
