Mangaluru, August 20: Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) this year will distribute scholarships to as many as 600 students from PUC to post-graduation who hail from economically backward families and also distribute wheel chairs to 60 physically challenged people of the district informed Dr B K Yusuf, the president of Dubai Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF).
Addressing the media in a press meet at press club on August 20th here, Dr B K Yusuf said, from the past 13 years, scholarships were being distributed to talented students. This year it has been decided to provide scholarships to 600 economically backward PUC students and 60 wheel chairs to physically challenged persons.
Karnataka health minister U T Khadar will inaugurate the program at 1.30 pm on Sunday August 23rd at Loyola hall St Aloysius College.
Dr Mohan Alva- chairman of Alva’s education foundation, M Hasan Darvesh the chairman of Darvesh group and BCF ambassador from UAE, B M Farookh the chairman of Fiza group of companies, district incharge minister- B Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake- minister for urban development, MP Naleen Kumar Kateel, MLA Mohiuddin Bava, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza and other guests will be present on the occasion, he said.
M Hasan Darvesh and S M Sherif of Kushi group will be awarded CSR special award and K S Saheed Karnire will be honoured with ‘Star of Bearys 2015’ award.
Felicitation programme is also organized for students and those who have achieved glory in sports, informed Dr B K Yusuf.
On the same occasion DR B K Yusuf also informed that a career guidance symposium will be held at 9 am on the same day by Prof Dr Kaup Mohammed, the dean from UAE London American City College.
