Mangaluru, August 11: Ullal police have arrested trio youths in connection with the attack on owner of a bakery and general store – Abdul Salam at Ullal Mastikatte, that took place some days ago.
The arrested are namely Saifullasan alias Saifu (21), Arfan alias Arfa (23), and Haneef alias Ibrahim alias Ibba (24) from Kumpala here. They were produced in the court. Police are in search of two other accused, including the prime accused.
A gang of six men led by Fayaz from Ullal, had suddenly entered the bakery-cum-general store being run by Abdul Salam at Mastikatte Ullal, barged into the store and had attacked Abdul Salam with sharp weapons. When Salam cried for help, people began to gather there. The gang took cash from the cash counter and had fled from the spot.
Pertaining to this incident, a complaint had been registered in Ullal police station.
The police initiated immediate actions and took the three accused youths into custody from Chikkamagaluru.
Among the three arrested accused, Arfan faces a case of abduction in Udupi town police station.
