Dakshina Kannada taxi drivers association to protest against Ola Cabs on July 3rd.

Mangaluru, July 2: The Dakshina Kannada taximen and maxicab association will hold a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioners office in the city on Friday, July 3rd demanding inquiry and action against the alleged illegal operation of the Ola cabs in Mangaluru, informed K Monappa Bhandary President of the association.

A protest rally would also be taken from Ambedkar Circle to Nehru Maidan, prior to the protest.

This was announced in a press conference held at the press club here on Thursday, July 2nd.

Addressing the media, general secretary of the association alleged that the Ola cabs are not following the motor vehicles rules and are operating without city taxi permission. Ola cabs provide service to the customers by charging them very less. It is affecting the livelihood of local taxi drivers, he said.

He alleged that the Ola cabs are operating illegally and demanded for an inquiry into it. He urged the government to protect the interests of taxi drivers.

Working President of the Association Pramod Kumar, Secretary of the Association Anand, Treasurer Udaya Kumar and others were present.
