Puttur, June 24: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, inspected the ongoing road developmental works at Shiradi Ghat stretch on Tuesday June 23rd.
Following some complaints that the road works on this ghat section has been progressing in a slow pace, and that the works may not get completed by the deadline of July 25th, the MP visited the spot.
Speaking to media after the inspection, Nalin said, out of the 13 km stretch concreting/asphalting work, 11.6 km of road works are completed. He hoped that this road might be open for traffic by August 15th.
He also said that he has directed the concerned officials to accelerate the pace of road works so that the stretch may be opened for traffic sooner.
Tender has been finalized for the second phase developmental works on Shiradi Ghat stretch, and has been sent for the approval of the central government. The government has consented for the converting the road connecting Addahole and BC Road into four-lane road, said Nalin.
MLA, S Angara, Zilla Panchayat president, Asha Thimmappa Gowda, Satish Kumpala, taluk panchayat president, Pulasya Rai, APMC president, Krishna Shetty, former MLA, Rukmaya Poojary, and others visited the spot along with MP Nalin.
