Two youths suspected to be drowned in Adyapady dam

Mangaluru, June 24: Duo youths were feared drowned in Adyapady dam constructed across River Phalguni near Vamanjoor, outskirts of Mangaluru on Tuesday June 23rd.

Tony (37) from Tarigudde and Ramesh (30) from Neermarga are the deceased. Both were into catering work.

It is learnt that three men, Tony, Ramesh and Deepak arrived to the dam by auto rickshaw in the afternoon on Tuesday. Tony and Ramesh dived into the water. Deepak stayed behind as he did not know swimming. They came out from the water.

After a few minutes, the duo once again dived into the water from a higher level, they were pulled by the water currents, post which they were unseen.

Life guards from Tannirbavi beach, Fire service personnel and Kavoor police rushed to the spot and undertook the search operations. Due to poor visibility in the evening, the search operations had to be suspended. Police informed that the search will begin on the early morning of Wednesday.

The dead body of Dinesh was found near Thokur on Wednesday morning .
