Mangaluru, January 6: Electronic ticketing machines were notified to be used mandatorily from Thursday January 1st, 2015 by the Mangaluru RTO which is followed by meagre number of buses.

It is gathered that a special checking is conducted at Mangaluru to charge against the buses which do not follow the notification and penalty will be imposed with cases being registered.

The notice was issued to all the bus services two months back. Since the rules are not followed, RTO personnel have undertaken strict checking led by RTO officer Shridar Nayak.

Over 45 buses have been already booked; the number will go up in the coming days as many of the buses still have not switched over to the machines. It is also observed that, some buses which possess the machines, fail to use them. However some bus services are not even issuing the tickets to the passengers and thus cheating them.

RTO also had ordered to maintain uniform bus fares for the private buses. The RTO has issued notice in order to provide solutions to all the problems faced by the passengers.
