Mangaluru, January 2: Over bridge construction works at Bykampady across national highway 66 will be completed by March 15th, and the one across national highway 75 by February 15th informed Z S Vijay Kumar, the Project director of National Highways Authority of India at a meeting of departmental officials chaired by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, to discuss about problems in national highways, at Circuit House here on Thursday January 1st.

Vijay Kumar revealed that the work on bridge at B C Road is in the final stage and inauguration of the concrete works, and works relating to the connecting road for Bykampady over bridge are under progress.

It was informed to MP Nalin that a project involving investment of Rs 23 crore has been drawn up for developing service road between NITK Suratkal and B C Road on national highway 66.

Govind Prabhu and Devadas Shetty,- Bantwal municipal councillors, told the MP that ten buildings in B C Road, which have been acquired long back and compensation was disbursed, have to vacated to construct service road. The project director said that shortly, arrangements will be made to expand the service road there by evicting these buildings with police assistance.

Vijay Kumar also revealed that stretch connecting B C Road and Charmadi, which is currently 5.5 metre wide, will be widened to 10 metres. Project is ready, and tender will be called soon, he said. The stretch connecting Kulshekar and Moodbidri will be widened to 45 metres up to Moodbidri.

MP Nalin Kumar directed the authorities to ensure that there will be a free flow of traffic on national highway 66 and 75.
