Mangaluru, January 1: The Shiradi Ghat stretch of national highway 75 will remain closed from January 2nd– 2015 repair and up-gradation works, informed Ramanath Rai, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister.
The matter was discussed with the authorities and the decision was announced in a press meet held at DC office here.
During the period from January 2 onwards till the repairs and development works are completed, the vehicles moving on this road have been asked to take alternative routes.
Towards Hassan-Mangalore:
Regular buses, car, jeep, van, LCV (Mini van), motor vehicle can take the following alternative routes:
- Hassan-Belur (State Highway -57) Mudigere- Charmadi Ghat-Belthangady-Ujre-B C Road (National Highway 234)- Mangaluru (National Highway 75).
- Hassan-Sakleshpur-Aanemahal (National Highway 75)- Hanabal-Jennapura (State Highway -27)- Mudigere-Charmadi Ghat- Belthangady- Ujre-B C Road (National Highway 234)- Mangaluru (National Highway 75)
- Hassan-Sakleshpur-(National Highway 75)- Belur- Mudigere-Charmadi Ghat- Belthangady- Ujre-B C Road (National Highway 234)- Mangaluru (National Highway 75)
Heavy vehicles: Rajahamsa, Iravat buses, private luxury buses and light vehicles
Mangalore-BC Road-Mani (National Highway 75) – Puttur-Mysore-Hunsur (National Highway 275) – K R Nagara- Holenarasipura-Hassan (State Highway 57)
Towards Mangalore-Bangalore:
Light and heavy vehicles:
- Mangalore- BC Road-Mani (National Highway 75)- Putturu-Madikeri-Hunsur (National Highway 275)- Mysore-Mandya-Ramanagar-Bangalore. (except – Bullet tankers, Ship cargo containers, long chassis vehicles)
Heavy vehicles (bullet tankers, ship cargo containers, including long chassis vehicles)
Bengaluru-Nelamangala-Shimogga-Sagara-Honnavara-Udupi-Murudeshwar-Kundapura-Udupi-Mangaluru.
Towards Bengaluru-Udupi:
Light vehicles: Bengaluru-Hassan-Mudigere-Kottigehara-Kalasa-Kudremukh-Malaghat-Karkala-Udupi.
Heavy vehicles: Bengaluru-Shivamogga- Aayanuru-Hosanagara-Masthi katte-Balebare ghat-Hosaangadi-Siddapura-Kundapura.
