Mangaluru, December 12: A temporary stay order was issued by the Supreme Court on the Made Snana practiced in Temples of Karnataka on Friday December 12th.
On November 19th, the Karnataka High Court had consented for the continuation of Made Snana at Kukke Subramanya Temple in Dakshina Kannada.
The Karnataka Backward Classes Awareness Forum had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court order.
Court ordered a temporary stay on practicing Made Snana stating that it cannot permit practice of a superstitious belief which was followed for over 500 years.
