Mangaluru, December 11: A media release of Tulu Software- ‘Taulava 2.0’ was held at Press Club here on Thursday December 11th.
The Tulu language has its own script. Based on the Tulu literature created by Hariharappa five generations ago, the software of Tulu script `Taulava 1.0’ version was invented in 2009.
The updated version of the software Taulava 2.0 has been launched in association of national computer literacy committee.
In a media release, Pravinraj S. Rao, the designer of the new software has revealed that Tulu script can be typed by using Nudi key pads.
He also said, the advanced version has been improved by eliminating some unnecessary alphabets. It was done with an intension of improvising Tulu script.
Pravinraj expressed his gratitude to Pradeep Kiran D’Souza Shaktinagar, Satyashankar B.E, Renuka Ghate, Ramachandra Uchil, Vivek Acharya, Ganesh Rai Neerchal who helped in software design and language experts such as Venkataraj Puninchitaya, Dr. Padmanabha Kekunnaya, Dr. Vighnaraj Dharmasthala and Dr. Radhakrishna Bellur.
The alphabets which are used in writing Taulava Software are printed in a booklet which was also launched during the same program.
