Ulaibettu communal clashes : Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal bandh called Tomorrow

Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have called for a bandh on Monday, December 8 in Gurpur and Ulaibettu following the communal clashes that erupted at Ulaibettu on the night of Friday December 5,

This news was revealed at the joint press conference at VHP working office near PVS circle here on Sunday December 7. As per the reports Gurpur Edapadavu, Bajpe, Yekkur, Kateel, Kaikamba, Vamanjoor and Neermarga will observe bandh (strike) from 6 am to 6 pm On Monday.

As per details, the VHP and Bajrang Dal along with other like-minded outfits will take out a rally starting at Gurpur junction at 10 am on December 8.

Speaking in the pressmeet Jitendra Kottari of VHP said, ” On December 5, at Ulaibettu when Datta Jayanti devotees were moving in a bus, some Muslims stopped the bus and attacked them saying they should not wear saffron colour and walk in that area. The clash erupted when two Datta Peetha devotees were attacked. When the activists were going to the police station to complain about the incident, around 300 Muslims attacked them with lethal weapons. They also attacked women. All Hindu organizations condemns this.

He also added that the protest march will proceed from Gurpur to Ulaibettu. Justice should be done in the atrocities which have taken place against Hindus. We also appreciate the work done by the police in this case,” said Kottari.

Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell, Harish Kuttar and Puneet were present in the press meet.
