BHOPAL/JABALPUR, September 5: Librarian of a missionary school in Jabalpur was arrested on Friday, a day after he was found giving lewd lessons to Class 5 students on ‘how to kiss, have sex and rape’. Police action came after parents approached the school brass and demanded stringent action. The librarian has been booked under sections of Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
“Parents of two students lodged a complaint with school administration that the librarian was teaching obscenity in classroom. The matter was referred to us by the school and accused was arrested,” said Akhil Verma, SHO, Belbagh police station, Jabalpur.
The police officer confirmed the librarian, Harry Phyo Philips(35), was discussing rape, kiss and sex in the class. The matter surfaced after a girl student told her mother. “We went to the school and informed the principal,” her father told the media.
The librarian, when summoned by the principal, confessed and tendered an apology. School administration sacked him. The accused was asked to handle one period with class 5 students on Thursday as the teacher was on leave. Accused would be produced before a court on Saturday.
