German car maker Mercedes Benz has launched its armoured version flagship s-class sedan in India. The car named S600-Guard is priced at rupees 8.90 crore ex-showroom in Delhi. We are going to read about many specialties of this car here but amongst them, most significant is this car is used by number of Head of States including The Honorable President of India.
This car is used by The President Of India for quite some time and it is customized for him, so the cost will be much more than what it is for the model launched recently.
So what is so special about this car that it costs approximately 9 times more than Mercede Benz S Class,the model it is based on. This one is heavily secured and comes with many additional security features. Mercedes Benz has quoted it as the “One Of The Safest Luxury Spots On Earth.”
The S600 Guard has received a VR9 level ballistic resistance class certification according to the BRV 2009 guidelines and becomes world’s first car to get it. This is the highest level of protection a car can have as of now.
The body of the car is made of Kevlar, the material used in making bulletproof jackets. The under body of the car is so strong that it can easily resist IED explosions. The doors of the car are very strong and heavy than the normal doors. These doors can beat bullets and grenades very easily.
The first step to security, in many ways, is to have the ability to blend in with the surroundings. Hence, the S600 Guard is hardly any different in looks to the standard S-Class apart from beefier Michelin run-flat tyres (which can drive up to 30 km even when damaged) and a wider B-pillar. T

This car comes equipped with a night vision system, a 360° camera, opaque roller blinds at the rear, a panic alarm, an automatically activating fire extinguisher system and an emergency fresh air system. The S600 Guard is also equipped with massaging seats that can also be heated, a cooling compartment in the rear to keep the bubbly chilled, heated windows, comfortable and adjustable rear head restraints and so on.
Buyers can also order a chauffeur package and the optional First Class rear suite which gives a continuous business console at the rear with two individual seats.
