Khargone (Madhya Pradesh): Shaijan was flying a kite when bad luck befell upon him in July 2013. He accidently touched a high-tension wire. His both hands were severely burned and had to be amputated. But you can’t stop respecting the courage of this boy and his mother’s efforts–in less than a year, he started writing by holding a pen between the thumb of his foot and finger. Not only this, he even draws beautiful pictures and plays the national anthem on a small piano. He also plays Bollywood songs and people marvel at his expertise considering what he confronted only a year ago.
His mother Mumtaz has been the source of his inspiration and his guide through his journey to be able to live a respectable life after the tragedy.
School denied him admission after the accident as they were not sure how Shaijan would continue his education. Now, he is in 7th standard and writes with his feet. According to his father, the family has already spent more than Rs. 6 lacs on the treatment, but no help has been extended to them by the government.
12-year old Shaijan loves drawing and his paintings have been widely appreciated. He has made painting of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan too. He went to present the painting to the Chief Minister but could not meet him as there were many people ahead of him.
We hope Shaijan’s story goes viral and Chief Minister comes to know about this strong-willed boy.
Shaijan surely needs help to surmount the obstacles he faces. You can make him popular.
