Metro train services have eased commuting woes for thousands of Delhiites and made the public transport system more reliable. Metro services on the Red Line (Shahdara – Tis Hazari) were thrown open for public on December, 2002.

At present there are 138 metro stations in the Delhi Metro network, including 125 in Delhi, six in Noida, five in Gurgaon, and two in Ghaziabad.
