New Delhi: With Chinese President Xi Jinping set to begin a three-day official visit to India Wednesday from Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said both nations should show “sensitivity to each other’s concerns and interests” and “maintain a climate of peace, stability and tranquillity” in relations.

China advocated “oriental wisdom” to resolve the contentious boundary dispute and said with enough willingness and determination, a proper solution to the issue would be found.

Reports from Leh, meanwhile, indicated that the standoff in the Demchok area of Ladakh continued for the 10th day, with Chinese nomads now reported to have erected tents with the help of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops inside Indian territory to protest against ongoing irrigation canal work.

As reported earlier, in another incident, a faceoff between troops of the two armies also occurred at Chumar in Ladakh.
