The ‘Ek Duje Ke Liye’ actress Rati Agnihotri who was in news off late for her disturbed married life is again in the news and this time for her professional reason. She will be portraying the role of Akshay Kumar’s mother in ‘Singh Is Bling’.
Rati Agnihotri who plays a Punjabi lady in the film wears loads of bling. Her son Tanuj is 28 and Akshay is 47 but Rati is not bothered about it, “In cinema you can take creative and cinematic liberties. Age is just one of the many factors that go into making a character sketch.As an actress I’m happy that I’ve got a chance to play women of different ages,” she says diplomatically, refusing to reveal any other details, not even this beeji’s name. “That’s the discretion of the producer.”
Interestingly, cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh is playing Akshay’s father in the film. He played Farhan Akhtar’s coach in ‘Bhaag Mikha Bhaag’.
“He’s well cast and a hugely talented actor,” compliments Rati. Did Yuvi drop in on the sets? “Not when I was there,” she says.
‘Singh Is Bling’ directed by Prabhudeva and produced by Ashvini Yardi also stars Amy Jackson. This is Akshay and Prabhudeva’s second film together after ‘Rowdy Rathore’.
